PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:

  • Apply the health and safety regulations that are relevant to horticultural activities.
  • Perform the necessary health and safety checks on the infrastructure and equipment.
  • Ensure that hazardous chemicals are safely handled and stored.
  • Inspect and verify the standards of the housekeeping practices in the work areas and stores.
  • Convene safety meetings to evaluate and improve all aspects of health and safety.
