| PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:
- Decide when shrubs, climbers and herbaceous plants will benefit from pruning.
- Identify diseased plants.
- Identify the growth habits of the plant (various types of roses, shrubs).
- Identify appropriate pruning methods for that type of plant.
- Prune roses, flowering shrubs and other plants to promote healthy growth and optimum flowering.
- Prune shrubs for different needs.
- Prune climbing plants so that they thrive and grow to their full potential.
