This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in a library setting. The course will cover a wide range of topics, including library organization and communication, collection development and management, cataloging and classification, reference services, and library technology.
Students will learn about the different types of libraries, such as public, academic, and special libraries, and the roles and responsibilities of library staff. They will also learn about the principles of information organization and retrieval, including the Dewey Decimal Classification system and Library of Congress Classification system.
Throughout the course, students will engage in hands-on activities and assignments to reinforce their understanding of library practices. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the necessary skills to effectively assist library patrons, manage library collections, and navigate the evolving landscape of library technology
