Study Online And Grow Your Career

Maximise your career growth and learn without the boundaries of a classroom by enrolling for our variety of online courses. Eskilz College offers you personalized-facilitated academic technical support throughout your education journey.

In this day in age, the future of higher education lies with online learning. Progressively, colleges and university students now find themselves with other commitments further than getting a degree. Career and family obligations in this competitive age demand the same amount of their time.

Having the alternative of taking online classes and studying on your own time is critically important. Simultaneously, many public institutions are unable to accommodate all those who want to take classes on campus, intensifying the call for online learning

Taking an online course, as opposed to a face-to-face class, definitely has its perks. If you’re on the fence about online classes vs. traditional classes, then consider the following advantages to studying online:

You’ll have a large variety of courses to choose from.

The great variety of online programs and courses is a huge advantage of this type of education. It doesn’t matter where you live and what you want to study – you can always find a suitable course or even a degree program that you can follow from home.

It doesn’t cost as much

Online programs are cheaper when compared to the ones held in a traditional campus setting.

You can customize your learning environment

You will not be bound to physical class sessions when you opt for online education. All lectures and needed materials are provided via online platforms, so you’ll easily access them from the comfort of your home.

You can learn at your own pace.

With online courses, students can start completing the targets at any time, and they can arrange a learning schedule that meets their individual needs.

You’ll develop great self-discipline.

You don’t have to wait for a lecture to tell you what you need to do, you just do it! In your online courses, you’ll check your class portal regularly, do all required readings and assignments and meet all your deadlines.

Reasons Why Taking A Gap Year Is Not A Good Decision

If the question of how taking a gap year or not after finishing high school will affect your life has been naggingly disturbing you, and you were contemplating going for a break, then think again.

Many people take on a gap year right after their high school years with the intention to “find themselves” or “figure out where their interests lie” but is it really sensible to pursue a career out of passion during the times we live in now?

Think of the uprising of the 4th Industrial Revolution where many people’s passions are going to be replaced by robots and machines. The machines, however, cannot build themselves and it takes a human’s acquired skills to bring them to life.

Skills development is the main focus of the current era, so instead of taking take a gap year in a quest to reaffirm yourself of where your passions lie, it will be advisable to rather invest your time in a skills training course.

Here are five reasons why we think taking a gap year is not so much of a good idea:

  1. You risk losing the momentum to learn. With the prolonged break, the desire to get up and go back to learning might depreciate.
  2. Time lost cannot be regained. The time you could’ve used to equip yourself for the working world is wasted and affects not only you but the entire economy as unemployment statistics increase.
  3. You will be a step behind your peers. While everyone progresses you stay stagnant and feel less motivated to pick yourself up again.
  4. Gap years can be expensive. Within the time of your gap year, you are more likely to get bored and desire to travel the world and make new discoveries which will result in you being an expense to your family instead of an investment.
  5. Lastly, you might feel alone and unable to keep in touch with your friends.

So, do you really want to hold yourself back and let the opportunity to better yourself pass you by?

We don’t think so too. Visit https://eskilzcollege.co.za/course-category/qualifications/ , learn more about courses that will definitely change your life and the lives of those around you and enroll now.

Eskilz College partners with MQA to launch the first of its kind qualification

Eskilz College collaborated with MQA  in rolling out MQA’s First  Work Experience Programme.

“We will expand the National Youth Service to take on 50 000 young people a year. Government will support tech-enabled platforms for self-employed youth in rural areas and townships,” said Ramaphosa.

In May, South Africa’s unemployment rate increased to 27.6% in the first quarter of 2019, according to Stats SA.

Ramaphosa said the Expanded Public Works Program would continue to provide work opportunities to the most vulnerable job seekers. He stated that subjects such as coding and data analytics would be introduced at a basic schooling level, to respond to the fourth industrial revolution.

Eskilz College is aligned to President Ramaphosa’s SONA plan and ensures to enter into the fourth revolution prepared and ready to tackle unemployment statistics in South Africa.

The Internship Programme is aimed at the increase in numbers of the technical graduates to hold necessary training and qualifications required for professional employment in the mining and minerals sector.

Eskilz College empowered by MQA took on the first of its kind SETA accredited and BEE aligned electrical engineering internship. 25 interns from rural areas embarked on an 18 month journey with Eskilz College to become electrical engineers.

Eskilz College interns have made us proud with their achievements, we are looking forward to the development and evolution of this programme. “It has been a long journey, from 2016 up until now September 2018. As one of Eskilz apprentices I just want to thank God it has ended in good terms. I passed my Trade test yesterday 13 September 2018. I am now a qualified electrician! Who Knew? I want to thank the whole of Eskilz College together with MQA for giving me such a great opportunity that will uplift me and take my electrical career to new heights. Indeed the future looks even brighter now!”  – Mpumelelo “The Electrician” Mtolo.

Eskilz College empowered by MQA has assisted more than 50 beneficiaries in obtaining their qualification in becoming a qualified artisan.

These interns gathered experience of industrial systems through witnessing the manufacturing process of products within companies such as Tiger Brands and Steelvision . These corporate businesses provided the platform for our interns to gain an insight into the business environment and sustain the passion that is instilled within them.

Eskilz College gifted these learners with PPE’s and tool boxes to use within the programme and throughout their electrical and mechanically engineering careers. We are pleased to announce the success of our Work Experience Programme , as our interns will be graduating on June 26th 2019.

“Throughout the course expected challenges were faced with this being the first of its kind programme to be launched however, the overall experience with the material and the interns was one that was extremely enjoyed by the facilitators and learners alike. We see this course reaching revolutionary heights.” – Training manager at Eskilz College.

Eskilz College is on a mission to provide quality, affordable, sustainable world class educational sources through accessible platforms. We intend to break boundaries and enrich lives. We have had life-changing impacts on our students as they start their career journeys. Their stories are ones we treasure and would like for them to be heard and motivate others to start their new life chapters.

Interns under the course expressed their gratitude and appreciation toward Eskilz College within their testimonials that were sent pre-graduation. Mlipa Thibile, an intern at within the programme expressed his vote of thanks by stating in his testimonial: “I am a qualified electrician. God Bless All Eskilz Members.”

Tired of the negative feedback?

Here’s how to keep your CV out of the trash.

First impressions are important. Your CV is the first chance you get to make a good impression on a potential employer. A top-quality CV will considerably boost your chance of getting a face-to-face interview, so it is certainly worth spending time and effort on the content and presentation.

Here are 10 tips to keep your CV from residing within the bottom of the dustbin:

  1. Take responsibility!

Send your CV from your own work appropriate email address, preferably the same email address that you have stipulated within your CV. Do not send your CV from a family member of friends email address.

  1. Spelling counts!

If you send a CV with multiple spelling errors there is a high chance that your CV will not make it passed the front door. Don’t claim to have “Advanced Microsoft Word” skills and then have alignment and formatting errors that make the document look like a last minute decision.

  1. Your CV is on Microsoft Excel, really?

Microsoft Excel is not a platform to use to send your CV from. This tip is simple- Do not send your CV in Microsoft Excel.

  1. Pay attention to the cover letter address.

Time saving methods such as copying and pasting your cover letter will assist you although take a few second to double check that you have not addressed it to the wrong company.

  1. Are you applying for a job or a modeling position?

Most companies are not looking for a model but rather the skills and experience you have. Although if you are to send an image of yourself please keep in mind that you are applying for a professional position and therefore an appropriate professional image will do.

  1. Using CV templates

If you are going to use a CV template, please do yourself a favor and remove parts of the template that you have not populated.

  1. AVOID EXERSSIVE USE OF CAPS

When you use CAPS rigorously throughout your CV it creates the impression of yelling your experiences to your potential employer. Think about how you read this point.

  1. Celebrate your achievements

If you are a graduate with no work experience, include notable achievements from school. If you are an experienced hire, unless your school achievements are truly remarkable, please don’t include them.

  1. Know your audience

Keep the companies culture in mind when you are applying for a position. If the company is innovative and technology is prized then list your out of the box skills. Although if the company is strictly corporate then stick to the professional atmosphere.

  1. Appropriate email addresses

Your email address is the first view of your CV. During High School and university you are in the prime of living your high life with your scotty.too.hotty email address, however a work appropriate email is required when sending your CV to potential employers.

Read your CV again from start to finish with time and diligence to make sure that your brilliance is portrayed through your skillset and experience. Remember that employers receive multiple CVs from perspective applicants so it is important to create a good impression and attract their attention. Most people do not spend as much time on their CV as they should, so if you write a professional, high quality CV you will certainly stand out from the rest..

Are you on the right career path?

Eskilz College has the answers you’re looking for.

Do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.

We have all been through that stage of the unknown where we had difficulty in choosing the adequate path that benefits our future and career path. Matric students are generally stressed out and already pulling their hairs out without having to deal with which is the best career path to take.

Remember that every occupation plays a vital role in society. The job market is vast so this means that you are able to choose a career path that best suits your personality and abilities. The lack of career guidance from high school is one of the main reasons why learners delay on going to university; some many even drop out mid-year because they do not have a passion for what they are studying. A few students take a year to find out what fields may peak their interest before pursuing a career.

A good place to start before entering the career path is a self-analysis; this includes asking yourself the following questions:

  • What type of person am I?
  • What are my interests?
  • What am I really good at?
  • What do I struggle with?
  • Am I a follower or a leader?

It is always beneficial to speak to individuals that are already in the respective fields to gain insight from a personal level.  At Eskilz College we have facilitators that are qualified and experienced to give you the best advice for your career path. Contact us today and let us assist you with finding the path for you. Education is power and we believe that every individual has the potential to reach for the stars and become the leaders of tomorrow by climbing the ladder to success..
